PGA Tour Returns

Well, 2025 has arrived and the new PGA Tour Season kicked off in Hawaii at the The Sentry played on Kapalua’s Plantation Course.

A strong field assembled with six of the top ten players in the world; winners from the previous season and players who finished within the top 50 of the 2024 Fedex Cup rankings.

Headlining names being two time major champion Collin Morikawa and the reigning Champion Golfer of the Year and two time major champion of 2024, Xander Schauffele. We also see the return of Norwegian phenomenon, Victor Hovland. This is Viktor’s first event since the season ending Tour Championship at East Lake in September 2024. It’s also worth noting that this week, Viktor is playing with a broken pinkie toe on his right foot. This shouldn’t bother him to much as it’s one of the better toes for a golfer to break!

The Sentry is always a great tournament to watch as the course tends to yield loads of birdies with previous winning scores being anywhere between 22 and 34 under par for the four rounds. Last year saw Chris Kirk take the title home after carding a very impressive score of 29 under par for the four days. Kirk managed to hold off a charge from Sahith Theegala who shot a final round ten under par to finish one behind Kirk.

The DP World Tour is still on it’s winter break and will be returning on 16 January where it kicks off in Dubai at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

The 2024 event saw Rory McIlroy lift the trophy with a four round score of 14 under par to pip Poland’s Adrian Meronk by one shot that the Emirates Golf Club. Again this event tends to attract a strong field with Rory, Jon Rahm, Robert McIntyre and Adam Scott all committed to playing in the 2025 event.
